About This Role – Singapore General Manager

We are looking for a General Manager to oversee and manage all staff, budgets and operations of our Singapore office. General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people and establishing local policies. To be successful in this role, the candidate should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring our profits maximization. The General Manager will be a senior executive and report to our Chief Executive Officer.

Responsibilities:

• Formulate and design overall strategy, manage people and establish policies/procedures, and robust control environment for overgrowth of the office and footprint expansion
• Actively seek and assess new business opportunities that are relevant
• Manage all day-to-day operations and ensure employees work productively, develop professionally, and are motivated
• Evaluate and improve overall operations and financial performance
• Establish, maintain and control budgets and optimize expenses, as well as provide solutions to challenges
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the Company’s regulation and safeguarding Genesis, its clients and assets, by maintaining compliance with applicable rules and regulations, policies and applying sound ethical judgement
• Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructures
• Build a culture of accountability, good corporate governance and supervision, fiscal responsibility, and ethics
• Adhere to all Company-wide policies and procedures
• Work closely with other executives and teams in other regions
• Prepare regular reports and KPIs for executive management and/or Board
• Develop and maintain relationships with our regulator – Monetary Authority of Singapore
• Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for Singapore within the appropriate timeframe
• Ensure the Company is in compliant with all the local rules and regulations

Requirements:

• 15+ years of financial services experience
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business or Finance
• Prior and proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
• Demonstrate outstanding organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to quickly build credibility and knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management
• Demonstrate ability in high level effective communication and presentation skill, including the ability to effect desired results
• Highly develop ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels or management throughout the Company
• Experience in business process and functions and budget (Legal, Compliance, HR, Finance, Operations, Risk and Technology)

Citizen or permanent resident of Singapore preferred
